Galaxy express 999

Here is the Popy version of the legendary 999 train. It came in a number of different boxes : individualy, with the other trains of the serie and with a space-railroad station set that could rotate the different locomotives together.

Train 111.
Train 222 from Popy - these trains seldom appear in the cartoon, but were part of Popy's trials to gain popularity (and make a few bucks) with the serie.
Train 444.
No. 555 - this time not a locomotive, but a passenger car. Note blue color of the box to differentiate.
... and 888. Other locomotives were made as well. I am not aware of how many.
This is the newest coldcast figurine from Maettel. She has Harlock's gun in her hand, and left her suitcase home... EPOCH.
These minicameras are from Banpresto. Each one has a different scene from the serie and lights thaat scene up through a lens located in the front part of the locomotive.
These figurines were quite a (nice) surprise for me : they are lighted through the base and made by Banpresto. Here Maettel in al her beauty !
... And the other ones ! Yes, Harlock is one of them, and Esmeraldas the other. There is another, older, set in existence which has a similar figurine of Claire, the maid with the crystal heart.
This is the second Zippo in the Harlock Saga, with Maettel.
By Medicom - this is Maettel in all her splendor. She comes with traveling bag and with a plastic passenger card giving her the (rightfull) access to the 999. Fur clothing and plastic molded hair.
This is one of the stations made by Popy for their GE999 train-line. It boasts a catapult to jumpstart the locomotives. Rare toy.

HeY, do you like stuffed toys ? What about these ? They don't only look cute - but they are very cool too ! Banpresto made these in the early 90's. The original set had 8 pieces.

Here is the rest of the bunch - with the locomotive. There was also a passenger car in the set (not pictured, but hey, if you have one extra !). All of these have strings for Christmas-tree duty.
Another Matsumoto title on the Playstation : with all your favorite heroes !
This is the other base in the serie. Called Base OMEGA, it can load 5 locomotives in its circular ring and catapult them from the ground level. Nice toy, using the principle of a revolver rotative chamber. Popy-Japan.

This boxed collectors set of Galaxy Express 999 contained a video tape of the G.E. movie, a black t-shirt with the skull and crossbones logo on the front and the sleeve, as well as a little paper brochure and a card-deck, again with skull and crossbones logo. Kaze productions. They made this one in PAL and SECAM, depending of the market (Belgium - France) (pictures Jerome Nussbaum)

This is the new resin kit by VOLKS models, and is based on the latest release of the Galaxy Express movie. Click on link to see pictures of the painted figurines.

This train-set is made by ARI in Japan. It contains the 999 locomotive and the cars. I don't really know if the train can be activated by any way or if it is just a model, but there does not seem to be a lot of building-painting involved. The company made 2 versions of this set. This is the movie version.

And here the TV-version. Click on the pictures to see the contents of the boxes.

Yellow Submarine again, but here is the white version of Maettel "LEGEND". Like her black-robed counterpart, she is totally jointed and much more flexible than her Medicom counterpart. She comes with a metal reproduction of the Cosmodragoon. Click on pic. to see box.

A special version of Maettel is this "Palace-dress". It came out with the new Matsumoto serie, Harlock Saga. A similar doll of Emeraldas, in red dress, also exists.

Tetsuro's favorite food ? Ramen Noodles ! So here you have the chopsticks with GE Express decoration ! The most Japanese item of them all !
